Nick Cherrie

PSYCHOLOGIST

Nick is a registered Psychologist, with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from the University of Newcastle, and a Master of Organisational Psychology from Macquarie University.

Nick primarily utilises CBT and interpersonal therapy to assist clients with a range of mental health concerns, from relationship problems, to work and study stressors, to anxiety or depression. In particular, Nick is very interested in assisting members of the LGBT community who may be experiencing concerns with their mental health. He firmly believes in a client-centred approach, working collaboratively with the client and their health team to achieve the best results. He is passionate about helping people to meet their goals, develop resilience, and progress on their recovery journey.

Nick has experience working predominantly in the social and community sector, working with a range of care providers to provide mental health support and support coordination. He also has extensive experience working with the NDIS, and has worked with clients from a range of social and cultural backgrounds. In addition, Nick has had experience working with clients under WorkCover and EAPs.

Michael Cheung

PSYCHOLOGIST

Michael is a Psychologist with extensive experience working with adolescents, families and adults who are experiencing emotional, social, behavioural and mental health difficulties. Michael has worked in a wide range of settings including private, public, research and community i.e beyondblue, Lifeline support services, Headspace, disability services, Universities, and the Department of Health and Quitline. Having spent much of his life overseas he has a culturally sensitive therapeutic approach. He also enjoys working with clients across the lifespan; from young adolescents to geriatrics. Michael has a particular expertise in the assessment and treatment of adolescents with emotional difficulties.

Michael works collaboratively with his clients to reach their treatment goals by providing individualised support, utilising psychometrics and evidence-based therapies. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. Chi Dumebi Morris

Chi is a compassionate, empathetic, and warm therapist who values each individual’s unique experience. She provides a space for people to explore their struggles and needs in ways that encourage change and growth, whilst offering a respectful and validating environment. She feels passionate about helping people to develop a greater capacity for resilience to help them flourish, as well as developing meaningful and positive relationships with themselves and others.

Chi has experience working with people with a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, grief and loss, traumatic stress, stress management, relationship difficulties and parenting stress and a whole range of other mental disorders. She has worked with clients from a range of cultural backgrounds and age brackets ranging from children to late adults. She has worked providing therapy both to individuals, couples, families, and in group settings. Chi has a multidisciplinary background, also having worked in medical research and in corporate banking.

Chi uses an evidence based and collaborative approach in her work drawing on a number of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Interpersonal psychotherapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, she also uses an eclectic approach when suitable to help people achieve their goals.

Chi holds a Post Graduate Diploma and Graduate Diploma in Psychology, from Charles Sturt University and the University of New England, respectively. Chi also holds a Bachelor of Sci (Physiology), from the University of New South Wales. Hurryat Faniad

PSYCHOLOGIST

Hurryat Faniad is a Psychologist registered with AHPRA and is a member of the Australian Psychology Society (APS). He has completed Bachelor of Psychology (Honour) and Master of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University and University of Western Sydney accordingly.

Hurryat has extensive experience in providing clinical and psychosocial interventions to a diverse population of Adults living with wide range of mental and physical health conditions. Not to forget, he has been interested and experienced in providing assessment and therapy for children (6-16 year old) living with mental disorders such as Anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders and behavioural issues.

Given that Hurryat has lived in many different countries overseas, he provides culturally sensitive and personalised therapy/service to clients from culturally and linguistically diverse background. He is fluent in five languages (Dari, Farsi “Persian”, Urdu, Hindi and English) and has extensive experience working with CALD patients.

Hurryat has been interested and efficient in providing support to clients with mood disorders (e.g. depression, anxiety), substance abuse disorder, Pain management, PTSD, Anger issues, Stress-issues, Sleep disorders, eating disorders and more chronic disorders such as Schizophrenia and Bi-polar disorders.

Larissa Engel-Fiorelli

Larissa is an AHPRA registered Forensic Psychologist with over 8 years of experience working in the public sector. During this time, she has primarily worked in the Drug and Alcohol setting, focusing on aggressive or problematic behaviour, substance-related disorders, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, trauma (including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and relationship difficulties.

In addition she has several years of experience working with adolescents with psychosocial stressors, behaviour management issues, school-related issues like exam stress, anxiety disorders, deliberate self-harm and suicidal ideation.

Larissa takes a holistic approach in her treatment. Her treatment methodologies include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Schema therapy. A large part of Larissa’s current role includes fostering and maintaining a positive culture of care and respect for all clientele.

Nadine Bou-Antoun

Nadine is a registered psychologist, a Board Approved Supervisor and a Medicare provider of Focused Psychological Strategies. She received a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Western Sydney as well as a Post-Graduate Diploma in Professional Psychology from Macquarie University. In addition to her academic qualifications, she is also registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Nadine has experience working with psychosis, bipolar, borderline personality disorder, trauma, depression and anxiety, as well as a range of other mental health disorders. She has worked with clients from a range of cultural backgrounds and age brackets, ranging from children to late adults.

Nadine provides psychological assessment and treatment based on the scientist-practitioner model, providing a range of evidence-based approaches that are supported by scientific research. Her therapeutic orientation is primarily CBT, DBT and Narrative Therapy, however Nadine uses an eclectic approach when suitable.

Nadine’s passion is to support clients in beating the stigma of mental health and living a more fulfilling life. She believes in working collaboratively with clients and other health workers to achieve best treatment outcomes.

Dali is a student counsellor with a deep curiosity about people and the human experience. With over 13 years working in a corporate environment in a client-facing role, Dali is experienced with working with a diverse population locally and internationally, and supporting clients throughout their journey. She enjoys working with people and her desire to be of service to others, motivated the career change to improving lives on a personal level.

Dali uses a warm, collaborative, holistic and authentic approach to therapy to help clients gain greater self-understanding, develop more helpful ways to deal with life challenges and empower personal growth. Coming from a migrant family, growing up in Sydney and having lived overseas in the United States of America and the United Kingdom, Dali recognises, respects and embraces the multicultural influences and different experiences of Australians.

Shailly Kapoor

Shailly is an experienced counsellor and behavioural practitioner (NDIS REGD.), who is extremely zealous about supporting children, adolescents, adults and families to improve and develop awareness, understanding and skills to resolve challenges they face. These challenges can be related but not limited to traumatic events, family relationships, parenting, anxiety, depression, grief and loss or any other mental health issue. She acknowledges and understands that every person is unique and requires personalized approach to healing. Her priority is to create amiable and safe space for client to share and work through their experiences.

She is a calm, non-judgmental and empathetic counsellor who believes in maintaining discretion. She is a holistic counsellor who works from a wellness model and accepts you with all your complex thoughts and difficult feelings. Her focus is not only limited to the core problem, but it extends to your ongoing contentment. Shailly offers short and long-term counselling. She has worked with a range of clinical presentations and has implemented various treatments including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy and Trauma-Informed Counselling.

Shailly has a Post Graduate Diploma of Counselling and currently perusing her master’s degree in counselling. As part of the degree, she is completing her supervised Practicum hours with Logic Lounge. Her previous education would include Master of Psychology, Bachelor of Psychology and Bachelor of Special Education (Learning Disability). She is proficient in conducting group sessions with parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her experience in working within inclusive school and counselling-psychotherapy setups, represents her efficacy in managing and providing counselling with psychoeducation on sensitive issues like bullying, developing self-esteem and encouraging children to seek help when its needed. She incorporates psychoeducation which supports the clients in regulating their emotional distress which leads to more awareness towards behaviours, actions and choices.

Being a culturally competent counsellor and being fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi, gives Shailly an edge to widen her horizon to understand multi-cultural worldviews

Aura is the admin assistant in Parramatta in charge of their bookkeeping and accounts. Having been at the clinic for 5 years, she provides information to the directors to assist them with business developments. Aura is always happy to help you and her team.

Aura completed her twelve-month traineeship at the clinic for a Certificate III in Business Administration in 2017. She is currently studying a double degree in IT and Linguistics at university.
