Meet Nick Cherrie, one of our Psychologists at our Parramatta clinic!
- What made you get into the field that you are currently in?
- Before I did this job, I served in the military and saw quite a lot of mental health issues. I wanted to, I guess, help people who were dealing with things that they didn’t fully understand.
- What are your hobbies?
- I go to gym, play guitar, listen to a lot of music. I read a lot.
- What’s the best advice you were ever given and by whom?
- The only easy day is yesterday.
- What energizes you outside of work?
- Ah, introversion / extroversion question! Spending time with my friends. Spending time with people that I care about.
- What’s your favourite holiday?
- Snowboarding. Easily.
- What motivates you at work?
- So, what motivates me is when a client gets something out of what I tell them, when they say, “That was really helpful!” or when they say that they really benefitted from what I said, or they just say that it was so good to be able to talk to someone. It’s what makes this job worth it.
- How would your friends describe you?
- Haha! Very serious.
- Do you have a favourite sports team?
- Nah, I don’t really follow sport.
- What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
- A deserted island? I’d take a hammock, a couple bottles of rum and a good attitude!
- If you could choose a superpower, what would it be and why?
- I would want to be able to speak any language, so that it could facilitate me as a communicator.
